Laballe Terres Basses Rouge combines the classic grapes of the region, with Cabernet Franc next to silky soft Merlot and regal Cabernet Sauvignon to make a smooth, balanced and delicious Gascon red.
This wine is a juicy red dry wine with expressive fruity tints, created from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the vineyards of the Côte de Gascony region. Clay-calcareous soils give the wines bright mineral notes. The grapes are harvested late at night or early in the morning to avoid oxidation processes. After sorting, the berries are separated from the ridges and passed through a press, the resulting wort is in contact with the skin for 10-12 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, the wine is aged for 6 months and bottled.
